Raashii Khanna on Yodha, “The makers said, ‘You are the lady Yodha on ground’”

Filmmakers Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha’s Yodha is keenly waited for its release on March 15. The trailer of the film was released last week in a grand fashion, and it received thumbs up from fans, largely because of Sidharth Malhotra’s heroics. But Yodha is not all about him. The film also stars Raashii Khanna in a pivotal role and the trailer featured her as well.

During the trailer launch of the film, the actress said that she always wanted to be an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer. And she got this opportunity while playing a government official doing negotiations during a hijack in Yodha. For the unversed, the movie revolves around a hijack.

 

Raashii said at the launch, “I have always wanted to be an IAS officer, and I think destiny brought me into cinema. I was very lucky to play this role because I saw that side! I play the role of a government official, who is responsible for negotiations. There was always this intensity on set. While reading the script, they said that you’re the ‘lady Yodha’ on ground, who’s negotiating and I realised the importance of communication, and how important it is in such situations. So, there is a lot I take away from this film.”

 

Yodha also stars Disha Patani as a flight attendant. The movie is produced under the banners of Dharma Productions, Amazon MGM Studios and Mentor Disciple Entertainment.
