Leaked photographs from a recent outdoor shoot in Mumbai created fresh curiosity about Mom 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2017 crime drama Mom. The original film, led by the late Sridevi, had received widespread acclaim for its emotional storytelling and impactful performances.

The first set of images showed actors and members of the crew working on a location shoot under tight security. The environment suggested that a key sequence was being filmed in real surroundings rather than indoors, keeping in line with the grounded tone that defined the first film.

 

Another picture captured an actress dressed in a light traditional outfit walking towards a vanity van while the production team guided her. The expressions and the overall mood suggested that the scene might be emotionally heavy or narratively significant.

 

According to earlier information reported by Bollywood Hungama, Mom 2 went on floors in Mumbai soon after Diwali, on October 26, 2025. By the time these images surfaced, around ten days of filming had already been completed and the shoot was moving forward as planned. The sequel had been directed by Girish Kohli, who was one of the key writers of the first installment and had crafted its screenplay and dialogues. Producer Boney Kapoor entrusted him with the film, believing that he understood the world and emotional depth of Mom better than anyone else.

 

During the 25th IIFA Awards 2025 in Jaipur, Boney Kapoor had earlier confirmed that he was working on a film with the young star leading Mom 2 and expressed hope that the next generation in his family would continue Sridevi’s legacy with dedication and skill.

 

Following the leak, fans discussed how the story might continue in the absence of Sridevi’s character and whether the sequel would retain the strong emotional and investigative elements that connected audiences to the first film. While the images did not reveal anything specific about the plot, they were enough to renew excitement and speculation about the highly anticipated project.
