Defence Minister Rajnath Singh remembers Major Shaitan Singh ahead of 120 Bahadur release: “His courage, leadership, and ultimate sacrifice continue to inspire our armed forces”

The buzz around Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios’ 120 Bahadur is stronger than ever. The trailer, with its mix of intensity and emotion, offers a glimpse into an important but lesser-known chapter of India’s war history — the story of 120 Indian soldiers who held their ground against 3,000 Chinese troops in the Battle of Rezang La. As the film approaches its release, India’s Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, honoured Balidan Diwas by remembering Major Shaitan Singh, who was martyred in the battle. It’s a fitting tribute to a national hero, and 120 Bahadur aims to bring his remarkable story to a wider audience.

Taking to his social media, the Honourable Defence Minister of India, Shri Rajnath Singh, shared a note remembering Major Shaitan Singh and the courageous efforts of his company at Rezang La during the 1962 war, acknowledging their dedication and service to the nation.

 



 


 

Sharing Major Shaitan Singh's picture, the Honourable Defence Minister wrote, “Remembering the valour and supreme sacrifice of Major Shaitan Singh on Balidan Diwas. The heroic stand of his company at Rezang La in 1962 War embodies the highest spirit of duty and devotion towards Motherland. His courage, leadership, and ultimate sacrifice continue to inspire our armed forces and strengthen the spirit of every Indian who proudly stand by the tricolour.”

 

120 Bahadur recounts the extraordinary courage of 120 Indian soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought in the legendary Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 war. Farhan Akhtar plays the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC, who, along with his men, stood against all odds in one of the most defining battles of Indian military history. At its heart, one unwavering line echoes through the film, Hum Peechhe Nahin Hatenge.

 

Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios), the film is an Excel Entertainment production and is set to release in cinemas on 21st November 2025.
