Bollywood Hungama Best of 2025: Saiyaara and Dhurandhar score highest in music and technical brilliance
If there was one album that ruled in 2025, it is undoubtedly Saiyaara. It is very rare in today’s times to have a film in which all songs not only suit the situation but also succeed in impressing. In fact, a good amount of credit for the film’s success is being given to its music. Among the tracks, the title song, ‘Humsafar’ and ‘Badbaad’ are the ones that deserve special mention.
Best Playback Singer (Male) – Faheem Abdulla – Title Song – Saiyaara
The album of Saiyaara became a rage in 2025. Although all the songs in the track-list turned out to be impressive, the title track is the most celebrated one. In the film, the song is a character in itself. A major reason for the song clicking to this level is Faheem Abdulla’s masterful vocals. The singer’s powerful range was seen the most in the portion where he had to sing in a high pitch for a long duration.
Best Playback Singer (Female) – Shreya Ghoshal – Saiyaara Reprise – Saiyaara
The title song of Saiyaara also had a reprised female version sung by Shreya Ghoshal. She brought in her own style to the original song and gave it a new twist by making a happy version of it. The track instantly clicked due to Ghoshal’s innocent and sweet vocals.
Best Song – Title Song – Saiyaara
Saiyaara ruled the music scene and how. And its title song played a major role in the album’s popularity. The track, sung passionately by Faheem Abdulla, became a rage in no time. It also played a major role in the film’s narrative as it became an important tool for storytelling.
Best Lyrics – Irshad Kamil – Title Song – Saiyaara
Apart from Faheem Abdulla’s lyrics, the title song of Saiyaara achieved such glory also because of its heartfelt lyrics by the veteran lyricist Irshad Kamil. His words were enough to pierce your heart as they spoke about the pain of separation the protagonist expressed for his lover.
Best Story – Aditya Dhar – Dhurandhar
Dhaurandhar turned out to be the biggest hit in Hindi. A major reason for its success was its story penned by director Aditya Dhar himself. It was a daring tale that went into the interiors of Karachi in Lyari where it explored the underworld and politics of Pakistan and how it all linked to the story of the protagonist Jaskirat Singh Rangi, played by Ranveer Singh.
Best Screenplay – Aditya Dhar – Dhurandhar
Aditya Dhar’s screenplay in Dhurandhar did complete justice to his intriguing and interesting story. The narrative delved deep into the workings of the underworld and politics of Lyari in Karachi and linked it perfectly with the story of the Indian spy, played by Ranveer Singh. Despite the film’s length being 3 hours and 34 minutes, there was no dull moment, thanks to the Dhar’s writing.
Best Dialogue – Subhash Kapoor – Jolly LLB 3
Subhash Kapoor’s Jolly LLB 3 received appreciation, especially for its courtroom scenes. These interactions were made funny and witty, thanks to the dialogues penned by Kapoor himself. The lines given to the two lawyers, played by Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, and the judge, played by Saurabh Shukla, were the highlights of the movie.
Best Action – Sea Young Oh, Ramazon Bulut, Yannick Ben and Aejaz Gulab
Because of the genre of Dhurandhar, its action needed to be top-notch and that’s exactly what the film provided. However, the action scenes were more in the realistic zone, rather than the ones where people and objects fly around. Sea Young Oh, Ramazon Bulut, Yannick Ben and Aejaz Gulab ensured that the action scenes in the film were believable as well as entertaining.
From heartfelt music to deep vocals to some heart-pounding action, 2025 brought all such flavours on the big screen. As we celebrate these heroes, it is clear that the year provided an artistic high to film lovers.
