Amitabh Bachchan extends heartfelt wishes to grandson Agastya Nanda ahead of Ikkis release: “So proud of you”
Amitabh Bachchan has publicly embraced the upcoming cinematic debut of his grandson, Agastya Nanda, by sharing an emotional message ahead of the release of the war-drama Ikkis. The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, is based on the true story of India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, Arun Khetarpal, and is scheduled to hit theatres on 25 December.
Taking to Instagram and X, Amitabh Bachchan shared the film’s trailer along with a personal note to Agastya, “Agastya… so proud of you… love and wishes for success. On 25th December, bravery marches into cinemas. Witness the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra hero,” he wrote.
Agastya, aged 24, plays the role of Khetarpal. This marks his second acting project following his debut in The Archies (2023), a Netflix musical directed by Zoya Akhtar. The film also features seasoned actors including Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher in key roles.
Produced by Maddock Films under the banner of Dinesh Vijan, Ikkis promises a gripping and emotional retelling of Khetarpal’s valour during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war where he was martyred at just 21 years old.
With Amitabh Bachchan’s warm endorsement and one of the most anticipated release dates of the year, Ikkis stands out not just as a war film but as a bridge of Bollywood legacy across generations. Agastya steps into the spotlight backed by family support and high expectations the countdown to December 25 has already begun.
