Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, has once again captured the spotlight—not for a film release, but for his personal life. Just ahead of his 60th birthday on March 14, 2025, Aamir introduced his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, to the media during a pre-birthday meet-and-greet in Mumbai on March 13. The event turned into a heartwarming revelation as Gauri opened up about what drew her to the superstar.

A Love Rooted in Simplicity

 

During the media interaction, Gauri Spratt, a Bengaluru native with no deep ties to Bollywood, shared the qualities she sought in a partner. “I wanted someone who was kind, a gentleman, and just caring,” she said, her words reflecting a grounded perspective far removed from the glitz of the film industry. Aamir, ever the charmer, quipped, “And after all that, you found me?”—a playful response that had the room smiling.

 

The couple’s connection, however, isn’t a recent fling. Aamir revealed they’ve known each other for 25 years, though they lost touch for a long stretch. It was only two years ago that their paths crossed again, sparking a romance that has since blossomed into a committed relationship. “I was looking for someone I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was,” Aamir shared

 

Gauri’s Distance from Bollywood Keeps It Real

 

Unlike many who might be dazzled by Aamir’s cinematic legacy—think Lagaan, Dangal, or 3 Idiots—Gauri admitted she’s not a Bollywood buff. “She grew up in Bangalore, and her exposure was to different kinds of films and arts. So she doesn’t watch Hindi films. She has probably not seen much of my work, too,” Aamir explained. Gauri confirmed she’s only watched two of his films, Dil Chahta Hai and Lagaan, and that too years ago.

 

This detachment from his superstar persona, Aamir believes, is a strength in their relationship. “She doesn’t see me as a superstar but as a partner,” he said.

 

Speaking of the professional front, Aamir is all set to grace the big screens with his next, Sitaare Zameen Par. The makers are yet to announce the release date.
