20 Years of Ishq Vishk: Shahid Kapoor says, “I hold on to the innocence that I started with”; reflects on his journey

Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor's debut film Ishq Vishk has recently completed 20 years since its release. The film, which was directed by Ken Ghosh and also starred Amrita Rao and Shenaz Treasurywala, struck a chord with the younger generation back in 2003 and became a hit at the box office. Speaking of his debut film’s 20 years, Shahid Kapoor reflected upon his journey and how he has grown and evolved with time.

In an interview with Indian Express, Kapoor asserted, “A lot in me has changed but certain fundamentals are very much the same. I hold on to that innocence that I started with. Yes, it goes away sometime, and then you have to connect with it again and then bring it back. It has to be always at the forefront.”

 

The Kabir Singh actor further added, “I really believe if you want to be good at anything, you have to be a student. You have to be curious, learn and evolve, that is the only way to be alive. You have to stay connected with yourself, stay young at heart, and also don’t take yourself too seriously. I have worked on myself in this department in the last few years. I have really tried to be like that.”

 

Coming to the professional front, the 42-year-old actor recently made his OTT debut with Amazon Prime Video’s web show Farzi. He played the character of Sunny, a con artist. He will be next seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s action-thriller, Bloody Daddy. It will directly release on the OTT platform, Jio Cinema, on June 9. Besides this, he also has an untitled film, starring Kriti Sanon, backed by Maddock Films.
