It's not just his hair that's going for his role in Bajirao Mastani. Ranveer Singh will also have to let go of his precious 6 pack physique to look like an 18th century Maratha warrior.

Says a source close to the project, "As Bajirao, Ranveer would have to go bare-chested in many scenes. And it would be a full physical deconstruction for Ranveer. This is a film and character set in the 18th century when there were no gym-built bodies. Sanjay Leela Bhansali can't have a Maratha king with 6 packs."

 

One would recall that Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar played Emperor Akbar and athlete Milkha Singh with their gym-trained 6-pack bodies, a cinematic liberty that did not go unnoticed by critics.

"He isn't asking Ranveer to go flabby. Bajirao was a king and a warrior. He has to look physically fit, but not in a physically trained manner. He would have to lose his hair and his 6-pack look."
