Aankhen 2 to be made with Varun Dhawan in Govinda's role

It is no longer Govinda and Chunky Pandey reprising their roles from David Dhawan's 1993 blockbuster Aankhen, though let's straightway confess that the zany duo may make a guest appearance in the sequel to go on the floors in the second-half of 2016.

 

However the core cast of Bunnu and Munnu played by Govinda and Chunky Pandey has passed on to two youngsters.

David Dhawan's star-son Varun who is an unabashed Govinda fan will play Govinda's role in Aaankhen 2. Chunky Pandey's role will go to a newcomer whom producer Pahlaj Nihalani discovered on a flight.

 

While an official announcement on the long-awaited sequel is awaited a source close to development reveals, "Aankhen 2 will take the story forward. The main characters Bunnu and Munnu will remain the same. The actors will change."
