Ek Tha Tiger is an above average film. The story of the film is not the newest or copied off of some Hollywood or Tollywood hit. In fact the film has a very strong attempt at having the perfect mix of a strong story with giant characters with strong characteristics. But it fails short because of the sort of forced attempt at involving the “desi tadkaâ€. For a movie like this that aspect wasn’t necessary but non- the less a very entertaining viewing. Kabir Khan has just jumped to the top of the list with this film. He has just become one of the top five directors in India with his sensibilities and view on storytelling is something that will keep him at the top for a very long time. The locations used in this film are just so good especially Dublin and Cuba; two locals that have added tremendous value to the film. The reason being these locals aren’t just used for the hack of it. Instead the story involves them beautifully, filming of the action and songs only adds to the value of these locals; full credit to Kabir Khan and Aseem Mishra the cinematographer. The songs work for the story which is a first in a Salman Khan film and it is very refreshing. Banjaara, Saiyaara, and Lapaata are to die for in this story, their instrumental elements are so strong that they just strike a chord directly with the audiences.
For the first time in a SALMAN KHAN film the film does not belong to him not totally. KATRINA KAIF, if you have not regarded her as a top echelon actor than you are missing out on the real good stuff. She is truly a revelation and this film and performance will only take her to new highest in Bollywood. Her action sequences are so refreshing to see in an all so manly film featuring a true tiger in Salaman Khan. She is just amazing, her emotional scenes and comedy is something to adore rather than to criticize.
Last but on the least at all, the film does have a section of its reels devoted to a man named Salman Khan. Ek aur sirf ek hai Salman Khan. This EID is sure to roar for the actor and all of us.
