Yash offered a glimpse into his equation with wife Radhika Pandit at a recent promotional event, combining humour with an affectionate acknowledgement of her support. The actor, who is preparing to portray Ravana in the upcoming Ramayana, invoked an age-old Indian tradition of placing a woman's name before a man's and playfully referred to himself as ‘Radhikapati’.
Introducing his wife at the event, Yash said, “And our Sita is right here, Radhika! Be it Ravana, be it Raya, be it Rocky, be it Raja Huli... whatever it is, when coming home...” He then elaborated on the cultural reference, saying, “Nowadays we put our surnames on women, but in that era it was the reverse—Sitapati! Isn't it? Just like that, I am Radhikapati!”
The actor’s remark drew attention to familiar pairings from Indian cultural and mythological traditions, including Radha-Krishna, Gauri-Shankar and Siya-Ram, in which the woman's name is often placed first. Through his playful choice of words, Yash acknowledged Radhika's place in his life while bringing a personal touch to the conversation.
Beyond the humour, the actor also spoke about the importance of having a supportive partner while pursuing ambitious professional choices. Referring to the experiments and decisions that have shaped his career, he credited the strength he receives at home for helping him take on new challenges. He said, “Wherever you go, I think if you don't have that strength at home, if you don't have that support... because of our crazy ideas, the experiments we do... now, after all this, I'm going and playing Ravana!”
