Rohan Sippy’s Love & All That Jazz: A Musical Extravaganza

In the light of recent events, the past and the future, if there’s one thing that defines entertainment in India, it’s got to be Bollywood. And just then Rohan Sippy popped up. Well, it all starts with belief, isn’t it?

So here’s what happened on a ‘jazzed’ up Saturday post the red carpet arrival of the who’s who of Bollywood and the Page 3- ites.

UK’s Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama‘s London correspondent gets into the musical mode and presents his version of Rohan Sippy’s debut Musical Broadway, right from the red carpet arrivals to the grand finale standing ovation.

So come on you people, sing with me as Love & All That Jazz is a musical unique!

VERSE 1

With a whiff of fresh air he came in a jiffy

Funky and sexy his name was Chuk Masta Sippy

He walked the red carpet with a glass of wine

A few envy men with women divine

CHORUS

Love …&… All That Jazz

Come on everybody make it razzmatazz

VERSE 2

Legs long slender and tall

The ladies saw ‘AB Jr’ and had it all

A few good men and their genus

With their much-loved brand of Chivas

Walkin n Talkin below the open sky

They were unaware of entertainment in high supply

CHORUS

Love …&… All That Jazz

Come on everybody make it razzmatazz

VERSE 3

The doors opened and in walked the crowd

Whisky Wine n Drinks were allowed

The audience sipped n expected the glitz

And before they knew they were seeing the wits

Ken Joe Diva and Stella

Were joined by Benny and The Twilight Players

CHORUS

Love …&… All That Jazz

Come on everybody make it razzmatazz

VERSE 4

A small town musician with big city dream

With gleam in his eyes he seemed extreme

All he wanted was the Nightingale theme

Until came a gangster with power supreme

Trumpets Drums Saxophone and Piano

Couldn’t stop the noise of Ken n Stella’s fiasco

Then came along Joe with a fire in his voice

He had no choice but was awaiting his rejoice

CHORUS

Love …&… All That Jazz

Come on everybody make it razzmatazz

VERSE 5

‘Chin Chin Chu’ and ‘Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si’ played

You bet the Diva wanted a desperate upgrade

She got it all and so did Stella

When Joe got rid of the gangster ‘fella’

Popping and Locking were the twilight players

Love & All That Jazz had so many layers

It all seemed like a Bollywood story

With Ranjit Barot and his musical glory

A happy ending is all what they wanted

A live musical that Rohan stylishly plotted

CHORUS

Love …&… All That Jazz

Come on everybody make it razzmatazz

VERSE 6

He thanked Abraham and Thakore for their sets

But all they put in was their effort and sweat

The audience raised their hands with utmost respect

And finally cheered every bit of it with immense effect

Today we bow down to the Sippy idea

For Love & All That Jazz was truly a memorabilia

Stella – Shahana Goswami

Divya – Hazel Keech

Joe – Ali Fazal

Ken – Rahul Dev

The Twilight Players – Sinbad Phgura, Ammo Phgura, Jimi Phagura
