The year 2018 will see the debut of late actress Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s eldest daughter Janhvi Kapoor in Karan Johar’s production, Dhadak. The upcoming actress has wrapped up her debut film which stars Shahid Kapoor‘s brother Ishaan Khatter opposite her. It hasn’t been easy for Janhvi who underwent trauma after the untimely demise of her mother Sridevi in Dubai. But, she kept her head up and completed her major work commitment this year. Now, making her way to the B-town, Janhvi Kapoor recently featured in her first ever magazine cover for Vogue India recently.
Mentor and family friend Karan Johar took the opportunity to interview Janhvi Kapoor as she opened up about her life after Sridevi. He even talked about Sridevi watching first 25 minutes of Dhadak and making some keen observations. She said, “She (Sridevi) was very technical about it. The first thing she told me was the things I needed to improve—she felt the mascara was smudged and it really bothered her. The second half has to be different, she told me, “You can’t wear anything on your face.” That’s all she told me but she was happy.”
Even before her debut, Janhvi Kapoor and her sister Khushi Kapoor have been often photographed by the paparazzi. The star kids have been in the limelight since childhood but became social media stars in the past two years. As Janhvi is often snapped post her gym session or dance classes, Karan Johar asked her how it has been the life in limelight till now. “It’s flattering that anyone would care what I look like after the gym. I feel like I haven’t done anything to earn that attention, so I don’t know how to react. Should I smile and wave because they’ve been waiting and it’s courteous? Or should I hide because I’m sweaty?” Janhvi asked.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak stars debutante Janhvi Kapoor opposite newbie Ishaan Khatter. The film is a remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. It is slated to release on June 19, 2018.
