The Rani Mukherji starrer Hichki released a few days ago in China. After opening on a slow note the film which features Rani’s character dealing with Tourette syndrome saw good growth over its opening weekend at the China box office.
In fact, after rake in USD 0.73 million [Rs. 5.39 cr] on Day 1 and USD 1.74 million [Rs. 12.85 cr] on Day 2 at the China box office the Siddharth P Malhotra directed film Hichki managed to draw in another USD 1.70 million [Rs. 12.55 cr] on Day 3. With this the total collections of Hichki at the China box office now stands at USD 4.21 million [Rs. 31.10 cr]. Interestingly, the business of Hichki has seen good growth over its opening weekend in the Chinese market, proving yet again that film with socially relevant topics appeal most to the Chinese audience.
As of now, with Hichki climbing to the fourth spot on the daily highest grossers list at the China box office, expectations are that though the business is likely to see a dip in collections on weekdays, Hichki will manage to hold its own in the Chinese market. If that wasn’t all predictions also state that the film will likely cross the Rs. 50 cr mark by the end of its first week in China.
