It was an ordinary Monday for both Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan and Bhoot Part One - The Haunted Ship as collections dropped when compared to Friday. The films had seen some sort of leverage due to partial holiday of Mahashivratri on Friday and hence it was apparent that there would some drop at least on Monday. More so since neither of the two had seen any major jump on Saturday or Sunday.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan dropped by more than 50% compared to Rs. 9.55 crores that it has managed on Friday. The film had anyways seen mixed reviews coming its way, both from critics as well as audiences, and that was further reflected in Monday collections of Rs. 3.87 crores. Ideally, the film should have been in the range of Rs. 5-6 crores for a good first week. So far, the film has collected Rs. 36.53 crores.
On the other hand, Bhoot Part One - The Haunted Ship too was expected to stay over the Rs. 2.32 crores mark on Monday as that would have indicated a good enough hold. The collections were a bit lesser though at Rs. 2.50 crores and that’s again a drop of around 50% when compared to Monday collections of Rs. 5.10 crores. So far, the film has collected Rs. 18.68 crores.
Now it has to be seen how does Tuesday hold as ideally, the numbers shouldn’t drop more than 10% from Monday.
