Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth reviews Mani Ratnam’s multi starrer Ponniyin Selvan 2 : Bollywood News

Set against the backdrop of kingdoms and empires, the second part of Ponniyin Selvan aka PS 2, based on the novel by the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy, released this Friday. South actor Siddharth, who is uninhibited to express his opinions, took to the social media platform to review the film. It seems that Siddharth recently caught up with the Mani Ratnam directorial that boasts of an ensemble cast of Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, among others.

Siddharth took to Instagram to talk about his experience of watching Ponniyin Selvan aka PS 2 and it seems that the performances of the stars and the popular filmmaker’s direction has won the heart of the Rang De Basanti actor. In an Instagram story shared by the actor, he shared a poster of the film along with a caption that read, “The master has delivered. Let the record tumble. Don’t miss the epic finale”. He also added, “What a historic moment for Tamil Cinema and our culture.”

Readers would be aware that PS 2 is a continuation of the film PS 1 which released in September 2022. The latter is also available on Amazon Prime Video. Ponniyin Selvan is set in the Chola Empire era and revolves around kingdom politics that aims at destroying the Chola empire and its legal heirs. Chiyaan Vikram and Jayam Ravi play the Chola siblings along with Trisha Krishnan. Karthi plays the loyal friend whereas Aishwarya essays the character of the antagonist Nandini. The film also stars Sarath Kumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Rahman, Prabhu, among others in pivotal roles. The film released on April 28 in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

As for Siddharth, he is currently gearing up for the release of his bilingual Takkar with Divyansha Kaushik in May 2023 and also for his next titled Chittha which will be directed by S.U. Arun Kumar.
