Kamal Haasan recently launched his fashion brand KH House of Khaddar that aims at promoting the Khadi / Khaddar clothing line.

Recently, the Indian audiences were thrilled to witness stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan sharing screen space with Telugu superstar Prabhas in Kalki 2898 AD. While the Bahubali actor has always expressed his fan love and respect for both actors, he was touched by a sweet gesture of Kamal Haasan. The latter recently gifted a special present from his own brand KH House of Khaddar and Prabhas decided to share about the same on social media.

For the unversed, Kamal Haasan launched his own fashion clothing line in September which aims at promoting the Khadi/Khadadar clothing line. Considering that the Tamil superstar shared a great camaraderie with Prabhas on the sets of Kalki 2898 AD, he decided to send across a gift for the Telugu superstar. The latter was not only thrilled to receive it, but he even took to his Instagram story to share about the same and thanked Haasan saying, “Thank you for the kind gesture Kamal Haasan Sir.... Wishing you all the best wih your new collection in your clothing line - KH House of Khaddar”.

Speaking about the brand, an official statement was released sharing details of the brand which read, “House of Khaddar is a clothing line of authentic handloom blended with Indian Heritage and Western designs and silhouettes." It further stated, "We will be working directly with the weavers and various craft communities across the state including block makers, printers and G.I. certified clusters. Blending Western silhouettes with Indian techniques is what sets us apart. The Khadi outfits we are putting together at KHHK are a refreshing take to what Khadi is usually synonymous with; dull, boring, or just too Indian. We keep away from going traditional and throw the fabric into a completely new light that is elegant, majestic yet trendy.”

“The mission is to save the art of Khadi and make Khadi cool and relatable to the young urban market. It’s also our responsibility to build a sustainable future for these communities by creating new products that will target a different market. The story of House of Khaddar lies in bringing contemporary design to age-old weaves like Khadi – whether it’s the cut, feel or fit of the fabric,” the statement concluded.
