Despite the fact that rescue activities were ongoing, South stalwart Mohanlal paid a visit to Wayanad. Dressed in his army uniform, the megastar spoke with officers before heading to the damaged areas. In 2009, the actor was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the Territorial Army, and he exhibited his dedication to service by offering support and solidarity during the crisis.

The actor has also given Rs 3 crore for disaster relief efforts in the affected region. He visited Chooralmala, Mundakkai, and Punchirimattom, among other places, and spoke with numerous rescue workers, including the army and local citizens, to get a sense of the gravity of the situation.

Previously, Mohanlal posted on Facebook to thank officials for their dedicated service to the nation's inhabitants. The actor posted photographs of rescue activities in the devastated areas and captioned them, "I salute the courage of the selfless volunteers, policemen, Fire & Rescue, NDRF, army soldiers, government officials, and everyone working tirelessly to provide relief to the victims of the Wayanad disaster. I am grateful for the efforts of my 122 Infantry Battalion, TA Madras, who have been at the forefront of the relief mission. We have faced challenges before and emerged stronger. I pray that we stand united and show the strength of our unity in this difficult time. Jai Hind!.”

The Kerala government has asked the Centre to send deep search radars to help in the rescue operations. On Saturday, one Xaver radar from Northern Command and four Reeco radars from Tiranga Mountain Rescue Organisation, Delhi, were carried to Wayanad aboard an Air Force aircraft.

Over 200 people remain missing as private search and rescue firms and volunteers join rescue operations conducted by the Indian Army, Kerala Police, and emergency service units, which are now in their fifth day.
