With the increasing number of positive cases of coronavirus in India, several establishments have decided to shut down while many have opted to work from home. A few days ago several film and television bodies mutually decided to halt shootings from March 19 to the end of the month taking into consideration the safety of everyone working on sets. Now, as per reports, Bigg Boss Malayalam 2 shoot has been temporarily suspended. The reports state that the reality show is being temporarily suspended to ensure the health and safety of the contestants and the crew involved.
An official statement was also released regarding the same. “We have currently announced a voluntary suspension of all our administrative and production departments until further notice, in light of the pandemic spread of COVID-19. This is a temporary suspension aimed at contributing efforts of minimizing the spread of COVID-19 and to comply with the safety and precautionary measures suggested by the government," the statement read.

The second season of Bigg Boss Malayalam hosted by Mohanlal has managed to stay in news because of its controversial nature. Recently, Rajith Kumar who was thrown out of the house, made headlines after a large crowd gathered at the Kochi airport to receive him amidst the coronavirus outbreak. He had earlier made news for his misogynistic comments and for applying green chilli paste on the eyes of his co-contestant. Meanwhile, according to reports the final episode of Bigg Boss will air on March 20.
