On May 29, a press meet of Aranmanai 4’s Hindi version was held in Mumbai and it was attended by gorgeous actresses Tamannaah Bhatia and Raashii Khanna, actor-director Sundar C, producer Khushbu Sundar and others. Tamannaah and Sundar spoke highly of each other and it was one of the memorable aspects of the events.
Tamannaah Bhatia began by saying, “I have told these folks from Chennai that the Mumbai media is cool aur hum events mein bahut masti karte hai. Hamare press meets bahut fun hote hain. Hence, I’d like to insist in advance that you guys have to ask very fun questions!”
She then expressed happiness over Aranmanai 4’s success saying, “For a female-led film to collect Rs. 100 crores, that too just from the South, is a big achievement for us.”
Speaking of the director, she stated, “Sundar C is one of the top three directors in the country. He has an acute sense of technology, emotion, commercial sensibility, etc, and he has proved this repeatedly.”
She added, “We often talk about female empowerment and that we need to make more female-led films. But the kind of upliftment he has had with his girls – he has two wonderful daughters and of course Khushu ma’am – (is commendable). It’s the perfect family that anyone would aspire to have. His stories reflect the bond he has with his women.”
Tamannaah admitted that playing the role in Aranmanai 4 was a challenge, “I never thought I’ll be able to play the character he offered me because I am treated like the baby in the house (smiles). No maternal instincts have kicked in! And (Sundar C) told me to play a protective mother. Ek aurat ka har roop darshaane ke mauka diya hai inhone. It’s a pure emotion and I decided to take inspiration from my mother. I thank Sundar C sir for entrusting me with this responsibility.”
Tamanaah then praised the two ladies on stage, “Khushbu Sundar ma’am is the wind beneath Sundar C’s wings. I find a lot of warmth whenever I meet Raashii Khanna. We worked together on a Telugu film before. She’s a very secure actress. Often, in the South, actresses play bubbly characters. But Raashii brings a lot of subtlety, softness and realism. I am a big fan of Raashii but I am a bigger fan of how amazing a person she is.”
Sundar C, meanwhile, revealed, “When I finished writing the script, I realized that the character should deliver a powerful performance and at the same time, the audience should relate to her. And she should also have a star value. Moreover, we also had to put glamour, and everybody knows that Tamannaah is very glamorous.”
He continued, “I wanted to bring the performance side of Tamannaah to the fore. I knew how talented Tamannaah is because we worked together in a film earlier, called Action (2019). This side of Tamannaah was not seen earlier in many films. It came out in Aranmanai 4. It is not easy for an actress to survive for 18 years. The dedication and professionalism made her what she is now. In the South, nobody expected Tamanaah to do so well in Aranmanai 4. It was a sweet surprise for them. The moment they got out of the theatre, the first thing they would talk about was Tamannaah's performance.”
He also said, “She has done a lot of emotional sequences while tied to a rope, that too with two children. She has a lot of action sequences. It was difficult to perform but Tamannaah came out with flying colours.”
The Hindi version of Aranmanai 4 releases in cinemas on May 31.
