Actor Mallika Sherawat was last seen in the Tamil film Dasavataaram alongside Kamal Haasan in a full-fledged role. The actress will be making a comeback to Kollywood after a little over a decade with the film Pambattam.
The makers of the upcoming thriller took to Twitter to announce Mallika joining the team to play a crucial role. The film stars Jeevan as the male lead.

The film is being directed by Vadivudaiyan who has helmed Tamil films like Pottu and Sowkarpettai. Talking to a daily, the filmmaker said that he met Mallika a week ago in Mumbai and narrated the script. He said that the actress agreed immediately after listening to the script. The actress who had taken a break from films told the filmmaker that she was keen to do a film only if it gave her enough scope to perform. And in Pambattam, she will play a modern-day queen and her character travels throughout the script. The director added that her look is being drafted with a lot of care.
Vadivudaiyan said that she fill have action sequences in the film and is working out harder to attain that physique. Mallika will start shooting for her portions by the end of this month.
Pambattam, produced by V Pazhanivel under his home banner Pazhanivel Film Garden, will be shot and released in Tamil as well as Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Amresh, who collaborated with Vadivudaiyan for Pottu, will be handling the music for Pambattam as well.
On the other hand, Mallika will soon be making her web series debut with horror-comedy Boo Sabki Phategi which will feature Tusshar Kapoor.
