Devansh Patel (DP): I ran all the way to buy you a gift. It's what I call a 'date'. So, you're surprised?
Candice Boucher (CB): Yes I am. I've never seen anyone run like this to buy me a gift. I'm honoured (laughs).
DP: So what are you waiting for? Unleash the present. But hang on! Are you one of those types who take their sweet time to unwrap it?
CB: (laughs) not anymore. I used to take time.
DP: Ok, take a wild guess. What do you think is inside the box?
CB: (As she lays her hands on the wrapping paper) I think it must be something to do with alcohol.
DP: Wow! You are so good at this. But the best thing is what's written on it.
CB: Yes (laughs). Life is too short to date dull men (laughs) All this in fifteen minutes, all wrapped. I'm very impressed. Thank you.
DP: So, are you surprised that this is called 'On a Date with Candice Boucher'?
CB: I am a little. I'm nervous.
DP: What? A chic like you getting nervous? That doesn't make sense.
CB: The first date is always nerve wrecking. Do you know what I mean? The ground rules and all. It's a new territory.
DP: Your first nerve wrecking moment. Come on, recall it for me. I wanna know.
CB: (laughs) I was in school then. I remember we went to the beach in Durban. My mother wasn't too happy about it (laughs). I was sixteen or seventeen. It kind of started very late. It was a family thing. Like a date with his family.
DP: The beach is right in front of us. Do you mind if we both go to the beach and continue our date?
CB: (laughs) It's raining and it's quite dull out there (laughs).
DP: Do you laugh this often. I mean, I'm not troubling you with my horrific questions, am I?
CB: No, no. I'm just very happy today. That's how I am.
Rewind - As I enter Prashant Chadha's fifth floor lavish apartment where I was scheduled to meet my 'date' Candice, it suddenly strikes me that I wasn't carrying any surprise for her. We were introduced to each other by Roopa Chadha, Candice's friend who also takes care of her work in India. But as fate would have it, Boucher sneaks into her room for a quick change of top and I sneaked out to buy her that impending gift in pouring rain on the last day of the Ganesh visarjan. Within fifteen minutes I touch down. The gift was wrapped and there she was waiting patiently for me sitting on the sofa with the thought I'm sure that went - 'What kind of a dull date is this?' I knock on the glass door. She turns and gets up. She hugs me tight. She keeps her long hands on my shoulders. She smiles. She laughs. She orders for her black coffee. She unpacks the gift slowly. She looks at her newly opened present and laughs. It's a Martini Glass that read - 'Life is too short to date dull men'. She looked in my eyes. I thought for a second, I thought again. I tried to stop myself. I couldn't. I fell in love. Call it good karma but Candice had surely seduced me by the end of our date. Her soft sense of humour, her saucy tongue and, no doubt, those impossibly long legs all help to label her 'man's best date'. For the first time ever UK's Harrow Observer columnist and Bollywood Hungama's London correspondent brings you a three part series of 'On a Date with Candice Boucher'. Guys, only 18 and over please… since the content below is pretty HOT!
Before you bombard my inbox with hate mails telling me an exclusive tete-a-tete with the Playboy cover girl Candice Boucher is just a shameless tactic to gain more friend requests on Facebook and followers on Twitter, please hear me out. It's about time for a new face to usurp the throne of my 'date'. And if you all have forgotten the famous 'On a Date with' series, well, it's time to remind you that I'm back with it. Usually, the ballerina legs, the plump lips, the bold cheekbones and the mesmerizing azure eyes (yes, up there) remind me of the alluring attributes that keep popping up in the glossy Playboy magazines. But what if I were to tell you that something actually popped out of the magazine for real? More often than not, when I meet a celebrity, pre-make-up, I am relieved to find a face that is human, i.e. flawed in some way - a blemish on a cheek, perhaps, or one eyebrow slightly askew - but flawed nonetheless. When I met Candice, a spirited 28 year old celebrity model, Playmate and lead actress of Aazaan, in black jeans and a white transparent tee covering her pink tube top, I looked into the magnetic eyes of a first-place finisher as far as my 'dates' are concerned. Not that I'm ranking her but she broke the mould anyway. Flawless! With a South African heritage, Boucher has a bedazzling, temptress-meets-angel face and a body to match. Well, I don't need to tell you - you can see it in the photos - it's enough to make a 30-something girl run screaming for a jar of cellulite cream and some self-tanner.

DP: Oh yea! I know, I read your tweet. By the way, let me tell you. I'm going to have this in my room - a Hollywood star walk of fame with your name. Let people envy me.
CB: Is it? That's quite nice. Are you feeling good about dating me?
DP: It's a historic moment for me. Dating a Playboy Playmate. Can it get hotter than this?
CB: (laughs) not really. It's historic for me too with a first ever time I'm on a date with a photographer clicking our pictures (laughs). This is unusual.
DP: And our coffee arrives. (I get up to get our two white mugs filled with black coffee) By the way, what coffee did you order?
CB: Just plain instant. I'm easy like that. Caffeine is caffeine. And of course, 'easy' as in not what you're thinking (laughs).
DP: Besides caffeine, what else gives you that 'kick'?
CB: Happy people. People who are inspiring. People who have a lust for life. Seeing all the old couples walking hand in hand even today inspires me. I love it. It's very heart warming for me. Seeing project like Aazaan come together from start to finish and then lands up at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
(At this point in time, we change location. A different setting gives a different outlook to the 'date')

DP: I've known your director for quite some time now
CB: How long?
DP: Couple of months
CB: (laughs)
DP: Seriously. I just recently met him but there was an instant positive vibe that connected us and we're friends now.
CB: Yes. You're right. I too get that vibe many times.
DP: We're sitting right next to the window overlooking some apartments. I hope no one's watching us. Not that we're doing something silly but I'm sitting next to Candice Boucher. I don't want anyone to be looking.
CB: Tell me about it. I had this issue before while I was changing my clothes (laughs). I just read your tweet this morning - After a hot shower, hot Candice Boucher in a bit! (laughs) That's funny.
CB: I like the martini glass you gave me. It'll always be with me. I do feel blessed today.
DP: You bet. It's the last day of the Ganesh festival too.
CB: Oh yes. I can see that already outside the window. I feel blessed. I feel blessed when I come to this house because Prashant's parents are such beautiful people. They are warm and caring.
DP: Sorry, I'm just looking right in your eyes. What colour are your eyes?
CB: It's blue, grey and green. It keeps changing.
DP: What kind of a man would you be impressed with?
CB: A man who doesn't try too hard. A man who is comfortable in his own skin.
DP: (I had to interrupt right here) Comfortable in his own skin? How can one be when you're around?
CB: (laughs) Thank you. But I like a man who is not always shoving money, wealth and possessions and always trying to show off material things towards you. He has to be someone whom you can talk with and laugh with… someone who inspires you… someone who makes you think.
DP: Do I make you think?
CB: Of course you do (laughs).
