In the last 2 years, we saw many films becoming all-time blockbusters like Pathaan, Gadar 2, Jawan and Stree 2. But all these films crossed the Rs. 500 crores and couldn’t go beyond that. Will Pushpa 2 – The Rule’s Hindi version be the first one to finally cross the Rs. 600 crore mark? Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said that it is possible and added, “It’ll depend on the content.”

Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal also said, “It’s very difficult to predict without seeing the content. It’ll depend on the content.” Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi, in agreement, replied, “Of course, it has the potential but it all boils down to the merit of the film.”

Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, explained in detail, “Lifetime is a function of many floating parts. Ideally, the Hindi version should collect Rs. 500 crores. Anything below that would be disappointing for a film like Pushpa 2. But to get to Rs. 500 crores, everything needs to fall in place.”

He continued, “In 4 days, it’ll collect Rs. 200 crores plus. Then word of mouth starts to play. And with such high-priced tickets, people would want to hear how the film is. Once the front-loaded-ness goes away and fans have consumed the film, then it all boils down to the neutral audience. This neutral audience will be driven primarily by word of mouth. Since ticket prices are inflated, word of mouth really needs to be on a good level to ensure that it reaches the Rs. 500 crore mark. I hope it goes on to do Rs. 600 crores.”

Pushpa 2 – The Rule is directed by Sukumar and its earlier part, Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01 (2021), was a surprise super hit in Hindi. The film was also widely consumed in Hindi and Telugu. As a result, the excitement for the sequel is unprecedented. Pushpa 2 – The Rule releases in cinemas on December 5.
