The makers of Governor, starring Manoj Bajpayee, have announced a special ticket pricing initiative ahead of the film’s theatrical release on June 12, 2026, offering tickets at rates consistent with cinema pricing from the 1990s, the decade in which the film is set, for the first 25000 tickets on BookMyShow.
Inspired by true events, Governor is set against the backdrop of an unprecedented financial crisis in India, depicting the decisions made by those tasked with steering the country through the period.
Bajpayee plays the role of a Governor navigating the nation through one of its most consequential chapters.
Announcing the initiative on social media, the makers captioned their post: “The story is historic and the ticket prices too. GOVERNOR, in cinemas on 12th June 2026.”
Governor is directed by Chinmay Mandlekar and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures, with Aashin A. Shah serving as co-producer.
The screenplay is written by Suvendu Bhattacharyjee, Saurabh Bharat, Ravi Asrani, and Vipul Amrutlal Shah, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar and music composed by Amit Trivedi.
