Priyanka Chopra Jonas is known for her relentless work ethic and commitment to every project she takes on. During the filming of Quantico, the actress was balancing the pressures of leading a major American television series while simultaneously representing South Asian talent on a global stage. Years later, celebrity stylist Cary Tauben has recalled an experience from that period that has stayed with him.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by Tory Morton, Tauben reflected on his time working with Priyanka while she was filming Quantico in Montreal. The stylist revealed that he was hired for a campaign for Appy Fizz and was tasked with styling Priyanka as well as several background performers associated with the shoot.
Recalling the assignment, Tauben said, “So I was working on a job for this drink called Appy Fizz. It's from India and it's kind of like a carbonated apple juice. It's on the same level as Coca-Cola or whatever in India.”
He went on to explain how the project brought him into contact with Priyanka during one of the busiest phases of her career. “And Priyanka Chopra at the time was filming that show Quantico in Montreal. So I was hired to style just Priyanka for this job. Actually Priyanka and the extras as well,” he shared.
Tauben's overall recollection of the actress was positive. He described her as warm and friendly during the fitting process and said they shared a good professional rapport. “So I did the fitting with her. She was super nice to me and she really liked me. I made her look amazing,” he said.
However, the stylist also remembered a particular aspect of the fitting session that surprised him. According to Tauben, some of the luxury fashion pieces used during the shoot were sourced from high-end designer stores, making them especially valuable. “In that moment though, while we were doing fittings, she was a little bit rough on the clothing, which I personally thought was disrespectful because I was taking these items from high-end stores,” he recalled.
He then shared one specific incident that stood out in his memory. “So she would take a Givenchy shoe and she would kick it to the side. And I was like, these shoes are like a thousand dollars, you know,” he said.
Despite the incident, Tauben made it clear that he had a positive experience working with Priyanka overall. His comments painted a picture of a star navigating an extremely demanding phase of her career while also maintaining a cordial relationship with those around her.
