During the event, Vijay Sethupathi addressed the audience and spoke warmly about Kajol’s performances, acknowledging the impact she has had on audiences across generations. Known for his understated and sincere style, the actor kept his praise simple yet heartfelt while addressing the Bollywood star.

Speaking about her work, Vijay Sethupathi said, “All your performances, I just love to see onscreen. Nothing more I can say, we are great fans madam". His words drew applause from the audience present at the ceremony. Kajol, in turn, responded with appreciation, acknowledging the compliment and reflecting on the craft of acting.

Further, thanking him for the love and appreciation, Kajol said, “I think when you perform, you become a completely different person. I don’t have that yet, but I will strive towards it.” The exchange between the two actors became one of the highlights of the evening, with fans sharing clips from the event across social media platforms.

Kajol’s recognition at the ceremony comes as a tribute to her long-standing impact on Hindi cinema. Over the years, she has delivered several memorable performances that have shaped the emotional storytelling of mainstream Bollywood.

The actor rose to prominence in the 1990s with films such as Baazigar, where she showcased an early glimpse of her strong screen presence. She later went on to deliver one of the most iconic performances of her career in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, a film that continues to remain one of the most celebrated romantic dramas in Indian cinema.

Kajol also demonstrated her versatility with Gupt: The Hidden Truth, where she surprised audiences by portraying a negative role, breaking away from the conventional “girl-next-door” image associated with her at the time. Years later, she delivered another widely appreciated performance in My Name Is Khan, where her portrayal of a resilient mother resonated strongly with viewers.

In recent years, Kajol has continued to explore diverse roles across film and streaming platforms. Projects such as the courtroom drama The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha, the thriller Do Patti, and the mythological horror film Maa have seen the actor experiment with new narratives while maintaining a strong connection with audiences.

The honour at the Chennai event served as yet another recognition of Kajol’s enduring legacy in Indian cinema.
