We all remember how Vidya Balan recreated the iconic song of Sridevi, ‘Hawa Hawaii’ in her 2017 blockbuster Tumhari Sulu. Now the same will be repeated in the Tamil remake of this Bollywood film, Kaatrin Mozhi. The film featuring Jyothika will, however, have a twist. The actress wouldn’t be performing on the Mr. India chartbuster but on a South number, the Malayalam song ‘Jimikki Kammal’ from the film Velipadinte Pusthakam that featured Mohanlal in the lead role.
The song ‘Jimikki Kammal’ became a rage with many creating their own version of the song on social media when it released last year. Now it will be recreated for the Jyothika starrer Kaatrin Mozhi. The song will not only feature the Mozhi actress but also Lakshmi Manchu who plays the role of Neha Dhupia from the original. Here are a few glimpses from the song wherein we can see both the ladies in action.
For the uninitiated, while Jyothika plays the role of housewife turned RJ [Radio Jockey] in this Tamil remake like Vidya Balan in Tumhari Sulu, Lakshmi Manchu essays the character of a stylish boss of Jyothika. Besides the duo, the song will also have Sandra, Sindhu Shyam and Kumaravel who play the actress’ colleagues in Kaatrin Mozhi. It is being said that it was only recently when the makers decided to purchase the rights of ‘Jimikki Kammal’.
Speaking of the peppy number, the song will be a part of the film after Jyothika becomes successful as an RJ and the same has reportedly been shot at a popular club in Chennai by Mahesh Muthuswamy. It has been choreographed by Viji.
Kaatrin Mozhi, directed by Radha Madhan and produced by G Dhananjayan, also stars Vidhartha who plays the role of Jyothika’s husband which was played by Manav Kaul in the Hindi version.
