The much-awaited horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was released on Diwali and has emerged as a huge success. Starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri, the horror comedy clashed with the multi-starrer Singham Again. Singham is an iconic franchise and this time Ajay Devgn was joined by Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. Moreover, it was directed by Rohit Shetty. Yet, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 opened with a bang and trended better than the cop action entertainer.

As a result, there’s already excitement for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4. Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, said, “It’s now a well-established franchise. The audience base for it has increased and the box office has also increased. At the domestic box office, it is the biggest film for Kartik Aaryan and Anees Bazmee. Hence, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 is definitely on the cards.”

Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi answered, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s next edition will surely have the advantage of the goodwill of the previous edition and the business that it has done. Here’s hoping that it gets made and that the makers and actors do it for the right reasons, which is the right script and storytelling, rather than just encash on its brand value. That will keep the franchise alive and kicking for all of them.”

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh believed that the fourth part should be made as the bar is set higher, “Before Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s release, a lot of people felt that ‘Akshay Kumar better tha’. There was a recall value for the first installment but after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Kartik owned the part. He has taken over completely.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 marked the return of Vidya Balan to the franchise after Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) and the coming together of Kartik and Anees after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022).
