“Romancing people like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan is wonderful” – Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif had a disappointing 2016 as both her films – the intense love story Fitoor and the time travel love story Baar Baar Dekho – bombed badly at the box office. But things are getting better for her. She will be seen in Tiger Zinda Hai, which releases in same day, and it’s expected to be the biggest Bollywood grosser. Her next two films – Thugs Of Hindostan and Shah Rukh Khan-Aanand L Rai’s next are also one of the most awaited films, of 2018.

At the ‘Zee Cine Awards’, Katrina Kaif at first opened up about Tiger Zinda Hai, the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger. Both she and Salman Khan are back in the sequel to reprise the same role that they played in the first part. She said, “I am very, very excited for Tiger Zinda Hai. Only a few days are left for the film to release. I feel very good about the film. I want everyone to come and see it and hopefully, Tiger Zinda Hai will be a very nice way to end the year.” Talking about the huge gap between the two films, she stated, “It’s been five years since Ek Tha Tiger. Director Ali Abbas Zafar has written an incredible story. He has taken the story forward in an amazing way. It’s been wonderful being with him on the set and also with Salman Khan.”

Tiger Zinda Hai is the fifth film that she’s doing with Salman Khan in 12 years. Talking about this long association with the superstar, she opened up, “Me and Salman Khan have known each other since…quite some years! Let’s leave at that (laughs)! We share a great equation and there’s a lot of respect between us.”

After Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif is expected to romance Aamir Khan in Thugs Of Hindostan. When asked about romancing the Khans, she smiled and said in lighter vein, “I love romance and romancing people like Aamir and Salman is wonderful!” Thugs Of Hindostan also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima San Shaikh and is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. It’s all set to release on Diwali 2018.

Speaking about the Christmas and New Year plans, Katrina Kaif said, “Me and Ali both have decided to wait till December 23 to make any plans. We both are so consumed with Tiger Zinda Hai right now that there’s no room in my mind right now for anything else.” She then added, “After Tiger Zinda Hai releases, I have a few days to bring in Christmas and New Year’s. After that, I’ll start shooting for Thugs Of Hindostan and Aanand L Rai’s film.”

Aanand L Rai has become a director to reckon with and she seemed happy working with the filmmaker. She said, “Aanand L Rai is a wonderful director. It’s really amazing working with him as he’s so loving. He makes his actors feel that they are the most important thing in the film and that really helps your performance. He gives such an incredible space to work in the film.” This flick is untitled and features SRK as a dwarf. It also stars Anushka Sharma and is releasing on Christmas 2018.
