The star-studded event of Nita Mukesh Ambani Culture Centre (NMACC) inaugural event seems to have had several unmissable moments. From Spiderman Tom Holland meeting Mukesh Ambani to Shah Rukh Khan performing live on Pathaan song, videos from the event have taken social media by storm. Recently, yet another iconic moment was created when yesteryear star Rekha met Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and his granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

In a selfie posted by Manish Malhotra with all the beauties one frame, the fashion designer opened up about celebrating the work of Indian artisans at the Inauguration ceremony of NMACC. The designer also posted a couple of photos with his favourite muse Aishwarya Rai Bachchan which featured her alongside him, yesteryear star Rekha, and daughter Aaradhya. Aish was seen dressed in a traditional attire along with Rekhaji in her quintessential Kanjeevaram whereas Aaradhya too was seen in an ethnic outfit.

While Manish Malhotra gushed about their beauty in his caption, saying, “The spectacular night @nmacc.india #indiainfashion celebration and with the beautiful and favourites #Rekhaji @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb and the lovely #aarhadya … #love #weaves #classics @manishmalhotraworld,” a few fans pointed out on the post about two Umrao Jaans posing together.

Talking about the Umrao Jaan connection, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the role of Umrao Jaan in a 2006 film which was originally essayed by Rekha in the 1981 film. Both films were an adaptation of the 1905 novel Umrao Jaan Ada, that revolved around a Lucknowi courtesan and a famous poet.

On the other hand, coming to the iconic moment, readers would be aware that the story of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha has always piqued the interest of the audiences and a lot has been written about their alleged relationship. However, while the two superstars have refrained from meeting each other, Rekha has not only interacted with Abhishek Bachchan at many events, but she and Amitabh Bachchan’s wife Jaya Bachchan have also warmly greeted each other on many occasions.
