Actor Kranti Prakash Jha, known for his performances across films and web series, is gearing up for the release of the upcoming political thriller Sankalp. The series, directed by Prakash Jha, also features veteran actor Nana Patekar in a prominent role.
Speaking about the experience of working on the series, Jha shared that he initially felt nervous about performing alongside Patekar. However, he said the senior actor’s supportive approach helped him gain confidence on set.
“I was very nervous because it felt like a dream coming true — getting the opportunity to appear in front of Nana sir,” Jha said. “But when I met him, he explained things very well, almost like a teacher.”
Jha added that the guidance he received from both Patekar and director Prakash Jha played a crucial role in shaping his performance. According to him, their experience and understanding of the craft helped elevate the scenes he was part of.
“My best came out because of Prakash sir, and the scene I did with Nana sir turned out well because of him. I may have played the role, but it was only because of these two people that I was able to perform it the way I did,” he said.
The actor also revealed that working with Prakash Jha had been a long-standing dream. He recalled a conversation with his father from years ago, when he decided to move from Delhi to Mumbai to pursue acting.
“When my father found out that I was leaving my studies in Delhi and going to Mumbai, he told me something important. He said there is a director from our place in Bihar — Prakash Jha — and that I should try meeting him once,” Jha said. “It has been around 10 to 12 years since then, and now that dream has finally come true.”
Over the years, Jha has built a strong screen presence with roles in projects such as Raktanchal, Batla House, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Samrat Prithviraj.
Apart from Sankalp, audiences can also look forward to the third season of Raktanchal, in which Jha is expected to reprise his popular role. With these upcoming projects, the actor continues to expand his presence in the digital entertainment space.
Sankalp is scheduled to premiere on March 11.
