Actor Akshay Kumar recently shared his thoughts on how marriage can transform everyday life during an upcoming episode of Wheel of Fortune. The conversation unfolded in a light-hearted exchange with guests Yashraj Mukhate, Viraj Gehlani and Pranjali Papnai.
The discussion began when Gehlani, who recently got married, spoke about the lifestyle changes he has experienced since tying the knot. Curious about his new routine, Kumar asked how things had changed after marriage.
Gehlani replied humorously that his grooming habits had become far more elaborate. “I have a separate soap for my forehead, a separate shampoo for my hair, a separate soap for my elbows, and another for my knees,” he said. Reacting with surprise, Kumar joked, “Why is that? I don’t have that kind of luxury.”
The conversation continued with Gehlani describing how his wife introduced him to a variety of skincare routines. He recalled being told to apply sunscreen with SPF, wash his feet before going to bed, and use products like niacinamide and salicylic acid.
Kumar responded with amusement, admitting he was unfamiliar with such detailed routines. “I swear, I didn’t even know about all this,” he said.
Gehlani added that the skincare rituals sometimes feel exhausting, joking that he applies so much moisturiser that he gets tired of it. Kumar then contrasted this with his own simple routine, saying with a laugh that he usually just uses shampoo on his hair and whatever spreads across the rest of his body during the process.
The actor also pulled Yashraj Mukhate into the conversation, asking about his grooming habits as well, keeping the banter going on stage.
Later in the discussion, Gehlani shared another anecdote, saying he had never used lip balm before marriage but now does so regularly because his wife insists on it. When she asks him how his glow looks, he jokes that it is still the same as before.
Summing up the conversation, Kumar offered a more reflective take on married life. He observed that many aspects of a person’s lifestyle change after marriage, from the products they use to the food they eat.
“It's amazing how things change when a wife enters the house,” he said. “What a man used earlier and what he starts using after that is completely different. What he used to eat also changes, and a kind of balance comes into life. Good food starts being made at home automatically. That’s why people say that when a wife comes home, Lakshmi comes with her.”
