Now that November has arrived, movie buffs head to Goa to attend the much-anticipated International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The Directorate of Film Festivals (under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting) and the Goa state government jointly organise it each year between November 20 and 28. Apart from premiering some of the notable films released this year, the upcoming event will also pay homage to composer-singer Bappi Lahiri, and singers Lata Mangeshkar and KK.

As per a report by PTI, the 53rd edition of IFFI will pay tribute to at least 17 icons of Indian cinema - including composer-singer Bappi Lahiri, singers Lata Mangeshkar, Bhupinder Singh and KK, and filmmaker Tarun Majumdar — by screening their most memorable works during the festival.

The report further added that the organisers will screen the film Disco Dancer, which made Lahiri’s music a rage across India. Meanwhile, to pay homage to Lata Mangeshkar, the Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan-starrer film Abhimaan will be screened. Bhool Bhulaiyaa will be screened to pay homage to singer KK.

A screening of Saraswatichandra will honour Ramesh Deo, while Anhonee will pay tribute to Raveena Tandon's father, Ravi Tandon. Souten, a film by Sawan Kumar Tak, will also be screened at IFFI Goa.

In addition to these movies, the festival will also feature Nimantran by Tarun Majumdar, Lamhe by Yash Chopra (in honour of Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma), and Parinda by Vidhu Vinod Chopra (in honour of Shiv Kumar Subramaniam).

On the other hand, we had reported that Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya will have its premiere at the 53rd International Film Festival of India, Goa. In addition, Varun will be performing live. However, it is not on the same day as the premiere, instead, Varun will be performing on November 20, the opening day.
