Ayushmann Khurrana has portrayed a lot of roles with extreme versatility. No two roles of his are of the same kind. And now, he is all set to explore the thriller genre with Anubhav Sinha’s Article 15 where he will be seen playing the role of a cop in a rural and primitive area. He is more than excited to share this movie with his fans because it is something he has never done before and it is also one of the few movies that tackle multiple social issues at the same time, including gang rape and caste discrimination.
In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, we asked him a few questions put forward by his fans on Twitter and this is how it went. We asked him about his process of getting into the skin of a character with such ease and how he reacts after reading and selecting a good script, this is what he said, “I think it comes from life, if you’re living a certain life and if you’re meeting people from different walks of life, you tend to get references from them. I have always said that acting cannot be your life, your real life is the one which teaches you a lot and I’m a keen observer. So, I meet a lot of people and I’ve travelled through the length and breadth of the country. So I am aware of every state, religion, and I meet and know all sorts of people, you get a lot of references from there.”
He elaborated further about the process of choosing a good script and choosing one by saying, “I consume the script as an audience member. I take out the garb of a star while selecting a script, because I always keep the script above my character. I feel that if the script is nice, then it will be good for everyone and I see the bigger picture always. If the script is entertaining, I go for it. Few things like it should have novelty; it should have good content couple with entertainment. If there’s no entertainment then I think it will be a documentary. So, it has to be a mix of everything.”
