And often these films have enjoyed a decent success at the box office. In a recent EXCLUSIVE interview with Bollywood Hungama, while he was promoting Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer Singh spoke about the time when he was offered the role of a self-destructive character.
EXCLUSIVE: Ranveer Singh reveals he said ‘NO’ to a self-destructive characterWhile discussing about the prep for his character of Kapil Dev in ’83, Ranveer Singh spoke to exclusively to Bollywood Hungama about a self-destructive character that was offered to him while he was training for the role of a cricketer. However, the actor denied the offer. Speaking about it, Ranveer said, “So I was training I lived like an athlete. And there was, at the time that I was offered ‘83, there was another offer on the table, very exciting offer as well. But that was of a very self-destructive character - smoking, drinking. I didn't want to be that at that time, that was not the life choice. I wanted to but I didn't feel like I wanted to inhabit that character. I would much rather be an athlete. So I chose that I live a healthy life, diet, training, exercise, mental preparation, everything, try and live those lives as much as possible.”
The actor’s next Jayeshbhai Jordaar, also starring Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah, hit the big screens a day ago, on May 13, 2022. Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Cirkus starring Pooja Hegde as the leading lady. Apart from that, the actor will also star in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani that has Alia Bhatt opposite him.
