BTS’ Jungkook dedicates new song ‘My You’ to ARMY on their 9th group anniversary, watch video

Pop titans BTS are celebrating their 9th anniversary. June is a special month for them and the fans to reflect on their journey. The group made their debut nine years ago on June 13. Every year, BTS celebrates the first thirteen days with FESTA as they release new content like music, song covers, dance videos, photo collections among others. The two-week festival leads up to the finale which is a sit-down session of them having dinner with them. On this special occasion, as it is midnight already in South Korea, the youngest member of the group, Jungkook has dropped a song 'My You' dedicated their loyal fandom, ARMY.

The song comes in few months after Jungkook tried to compose music the same melody during a live broadcast on the social networking website VLIVE. Titled 'My You', the animated sort of music video focuses on the mutual love between the seven members of BTS and their fans. There is an animated artwork of Instagram with seven members' animal emoji description and Jungkook's Instagram. Produced by Jungkook and Hiss Noise, he croons, "All the reasons why I can laugh out / All the reasons why I sing this song / Thankful to be by your side now / I'll try to shine brighter than now."

Thanking the fandom for being with them through thick and thin all these years, he further sings, "On a starry night / Hope my you sleep tight / Shining purple light / Thankful to be by your side now."

In Korean, he wrote a special note to the fans that read, "Overwhelmed by all these emotions I have when I think of you, sometimes I wondered, 'what if all these things disappear, what if all these were just a dream. So I wrote this song based on those thoughts and picked pretty words to fill the lyrics not to make the atmosphere Thank you always, ARMYs, and let's make even better memories going forward! My ARMY,I love you."

Back in 2020, Jungkook had dropped yet another track 'Still With You' dedicated to the fandom.

BTS, on June 10, dropped their new anthology album Proof. The album was accompanied by the official music video of the lead single “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)”. Proof comes 11 months after their latest single CD Butter. The three-CD album introduces three new tracks, one in each CD: “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)”, “Run BTS” and “For Youth.” The album comprises 48 tracks in total, from the greatest hit songs, and solo/sub-unit tracks selected by each member, unreleased tracks to special tracks.

In celebration of the band’s 9th anniversary, BTS will reveal performance of the new tracks through Proof Live via official YouTube channel BANGTANTV on June 13.
