During the discussion, Ananya Panday spoke passionately about how Gen Z is often misunderstood. “Gen Z knows a lot more than people give them credit for and they’re very…” she began, before being interrupted by Farah Khan, who jokingly quipped, “What do they know? Everything! They know about sourdough and…” drawing laughter from the panel.

Ananya continued, stressing emotional awareness as a defining trait of her generation. “No, no, they’re very in touch with their emotions,” she said, prompting an instantly sharp response from Twinkle Khanna. “What emotions? They’re traumatized by everything!” Twinkle remarked, staying true to her trademark wit. Refusing to let the point slide, Ananya defended her generation, saying, “No, they’re not traumatized. They’re the first generation that’s talking about feelings. It has nothing to do with the question, but it’s the first generation that’s really embracing mental health and freedom of expression.”

Twinkle, however, remained unconvinced and countered with, “Yeah, I think they’re embracing it a bit too much.” Farah Khan echoed a similar sentiment, adding, “Whenever they want to get out of something, it’s a mental health issue.” Despite the pushback, Ananya maintained a balanced outlook, concluding, “I think eventually a balance will be found.” Her response struck a calmer note, acknowledging both sides of the argument without dismissing the concerns raised.

Ananya Panday and Farah Khan appeared on the show as guests and also spoke about films and their long-standing personal connection. Farah, who shares a close bond with Ananya’s family, discussed watching Ananya grow up and her journey into the film industry. The conversation added warmth and familiarity to the episode, balancing the sharper generational debate with personal anecdotes.

Apart from this, the episode of Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle also sparked conversations online, with viewers weighing in on both sides of the debate—some echoing Ananya’s views on emotional openness, while others agreed with Twinkle and Farah’s concerns about over-labelling everyday struggles.

The exchange ultimately highlighted how conversations around mental health continue to evolve across generations, reflecting shifting cultural attitudes in both cinema and society at large.
