Attention is now centred on Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy that is already being touted as one of the biggest films of the year, which also marks Priyadarshan’s return to the genre. The film is notable for reuniting the director with Akshay Kumar after a gap of 14 years, a collaboration that has previously delivered multiple commercially successful films. Vidya Balan’s presence in the project has further strengthened interest, particularly in light of her past performances in similar roles.
Bhooth Bangla is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, in association with Cape of Good Films. The film brings together an ensemble cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav. Directed by Priyadarshan, the project is produced by Akshay Kumar along with Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor, and is slated for a theatrical release on 15 May 2026.
