raavan is an accident on box office.. no need to waste time on movie like this. considering mani sir's last movie like guru,yuva,roza.. but this time there is nothing special in direction. abhishek proved himself that acting is not his part even in the dereams.. ash is nice. music is outstanding and only positive thing about the movie. storyline is old and not able to bound us. i think taran got mad as he gave 1 and half to this. this movie even doesn't deserve single star. half is sutable for this as music is fantastic...

The act of Lallan & Gurukant Desai made abhishek fly in the seventh sky and now he is back with the same director with a hope to fly even higher than that. Gabbar, Mogambo and Beera. That`s what I really expected from Junior Bachchan through the promos of RAAVAN which flashed nearly a million times on each and every channel I switched to. Well after curiously watching this movie, my opinion has turned to 360 degrees, it was an immature acting which even doesn’t overtake his very own act in Yuva. Very first dialogue from Beera in the movie is “bak bak bak bak……†and guess what? I felt the same for the entire movie. I just can`t understand why in most of the scenes rain has to come ? You can`t get away by making a rip-off of an epic with the use of exotic natural locations and eye catching waterbody scenes. We don`t go to cinema to watch National Geographic Channel. Mani Ratnam`s brave efforts to portray Ramayana are absolutely vague and juvenile. Twist do come in the movie but hardly you care because the time you reach there you have lost all your curiosity and you are just waiting to get out of the hall as early as possible. The characterization might have been done perfectly but there is a big list of problems with this movie. Vital few from trivial many are its sluggish pace, over melodramatic treatment, pathetic screenplay and above all an absence of charming and witty dialogues which should have added much much required flavor to the movie. One big problem which towers above all is with the treatment to the character of Raavan. Inspite of having 10 heads he is shown confused which is totally indigestible. Needless to say, Raavan which we were familiar to in an epic was genius. But this one astonishingly has got just modicum of intelligence. Backgroud score is pitch perfect by Asian Mozart which is really a gem in the movie but it won`t be noticed due to poor script. Rahman`s songs will be considered good because bollywood doesn`t have anything hummable to offer since past 3-4 months. Mani Ratnam`s trademark style of filming songs continues with thok de gilli, it`s an impressive one. “The characters were forced to such situations that the act came naturally†quotes abhishek but its absolutely disputable because there is nothing to speak of in terms of acting from the leads. Only and only expressions can`t serve the purpose. Aishwarya wasn`t impressive at all on any level. Chemistry was absent between the lovely couple what we got on screen was a total physics. Govinda tries to come out of his David Dhawan frame through his fascinating act of Hanuman and it was total fun watching him. Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kissen is the best amongst all who stands out with his flamboyant act as Beera`s trustful man. Vikram has not much to offer except searching through dense forests for his wife and giving tough looks with some handful of unimpressive dialogues. I wonder was it made for single headed creatures? My single head wasn’t enough to tolerate ten headed Beera for odd 130 minutes. Finally, to put Raavan in kind words I would just say “Bizzaro crapâ€.

It's is a fantastic film. Out of the common. it really gives you a real atmosphere of the wild jungle.the waterfall site and the bridge is amazing.I am a great fan of AB, but he even surpassed my expectation in the film though i am a very critical viewer.he did his role so well. he really entered in his character and when he had to be softer, he did so.he really dominated the film by his role and acting. I am really surprised that some are not liking his acting.... Aishwarya did well also. govinda had a well tailored role. the other artist did well also specially ravi did well.

It was a very painful experience watching this movie; more painful because no body expected such a trash movie from a very talented director like Mani Ratnam who made Abhishek act in Guru. The movie lacks in all departments story, screenply, direction, acting, music every thing was poor.

After all that hype about the movie...I felt a bit dissapointed.Being a Mani Rathnam fan I expected his casting to be perfect.Ajay Devgan Should have been his Unanimous choice as Bheera. As he should have carried the role with immense sincierity and charm.I felt Abhi who was exceptional as guru bhai, has fell flat in his role here, and that automatically brings the film down.Though the rest of the cast are apt for this movie...especially ash doing a good job. Vikram is a class act & his role in Tamil is tailor made for him...But Bollywood really lacks talent....Except for Ajay devgan..or a Manoj Vajpayee..who would have carried this role better

All I want to say is Mani Sir, please don't limit yourself by casting Abishek and Aish in every movie of yours. You are loosing your charm. Even your next film stars them. Bachan family (except Amitabh) can't act. We want to see old Mani Ratnam who made Dil se, bombay, Roja

Irritating, disaster, meaningless, useless, waste - are the words if one needs to give review in one word. A complete disaster - I like to tell here Mr. Taran is very large hearted and given 1.5. The whole movie is in "roudra rasa or vibhatsa rasa" one can't tolerate these feelings more than a few minutes here the whole movie is in these. Most of the footages are in jungle of karela which are famous of its natural beauty but these guys are not able to catch even that and most of the time it irritates. It is the simiplest revenge story, we have thousands of such movies. Sabyasachi did some great work for ash. Difficult locations or a stunt[bridgewallah] does not save the movie on box-office or on critics’ table. Hopeless dialogue delivery, stupid faces and unnecessary close-ups make a complete package and helps the audience to left the theatre before movie concludes. Veer, Kites and now Raavan - it is the right time to start an award "Hopeless Movie Of The Year"
