Ghajini leaves an indelible impact upon your mind, the memories linger on long after you've left the theatre. A three-hour saga could not have been better polished and tauter.
All scenes are meaningful, albeit a few meaningful ones have been missed. No marks for guessing the show stealer of the movie, it is Aamir Khan. But considering his 20th year in Bollywood and the first one for Asin, it is Asin who steals the thunder. She is impeccable. Her comic timing is superb
Aamir on a revenge path fits his role. He has very few dialogues for him as the amnesic man. Lack of dialogues does not come forward as his handicap, but showcases his talent in portraying his emotions. He transcends rage like no other actor has done ever in Bollywood.
The film is wrongly titled, for the name Ghajini does not really do justice to the enormity of acting that Aamir and co have exhibited. The role of Ghajini has been carried out with ablombe by the veteran actor too.
The music has a hummable quotient, however is not one of the stronger points of the movie.
The downside of the movie is the violence. The rage that emanates in Aamir Khan is justifiable and that turns on the favor for the flick being so violent to the point of being gory. One can not just stand to see a person being hit on the head by an iron rod time and again. I just winced a number of times.
It is a strict no for children below 15. It is meant for the audiences who know how to differentiate movies from realities. We do not want fearless, animal-like people of Sanjay Singhania's genre in our society.
All in all the movie clicks and I give a thumbs up to the set up.
If the story line were original, I would have given a 5 to this Aamir Khan's movie. But, a copy remains a copy and that takes some gloss away...One must watch Ghajini to see the coming of age of Hindi Cinema for I think movies are only going to get better after the hallmark has been set.
