SS Rajamouli congratulates his RRR team for being invited to join Academy as members; says, “Extremely proud”
Ever since the SS Rajamouli directorial RRR was announced, the film has managed to be in the headlines; even a year after its release. After walking the prestigious Academy Awards Red Carpet earlier this year, a bunch of RRR stars including Jr NTR and Ram Charan and music composer MM Keeravani, among others, have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. After Jr NTR, SS Rajamouli has now reacted to the news.
On Thursday, the renowned director took to his verified Twitter handle and penned a note for his RRR team members. “Extremely proud that 6 members of our RRR team have been invited as members for The Academy Awards this year,” he wrote in the tweet.
Rajamouli further added, “Congratulations Tarak, Charan, Peddanna, Sabu sir, Senthil &Chandrabose garu. Also, congrats to the members from Indian Cinema who received the invitation this year.” KK Senthil Kumar is a casting director while Chandrabose and Sabu Cyril is music director and production designer respectively.
There was surprise among fans when they noticed the omission of the filmmaker's name, while some members from team RRR were invited by the Academy. One Twitter user expressed their congratulations to the team but also voiced a desire for SS Rajamouli to be present, acknowledging his deserving of accolades and success. Another tweet mentioned the absence of Rajamouli, while someone else credited him, addressing him respectfully as SSR garu, for making all Indians proud.
