Kantara fame Kishore wraps up supernatural thriller Vadakkan

The final schedule of Offbeet Studios Malayalam production, Kantara fame Kishore starrer Vadakkan, has been successfully completed. The film is made in five languages and is set to hit theatres pan India. Sajeed A is at the directorial helm of this visual and sound-driven supernatural thriller, which draws its inspiration from Dravidian legends. The film is written by Unni R. Kishore and Shruthy Menon take on the lead roles in the film.

Vadakkan promises to unveil a spine-chilling tale with supernatural elements and a thrilling narrative. The film takes audiences on a fun thrilling yet terrifying ride into the mystical realms of Dravidian legends. We hear that the makers have roped in Keiko Nakahara, a renowned Japanese cinematographer who has expertise in capturing mesmerizing visuals to add a layer of unique appeal to the upcoming film. After working on celebrated movies like Mary Kom and Shakuntala Devi, Keiko has used inimitable imagery, including challenging infra-red lighting in the film. This innovative approach, a first in India, aims to create challenging and realistic spooky scenes. The movie was shot in diverse locations, including Kerala, Finland (capturing the essence of winter), and eventually concluding in the city of Mumbai.

 

The film also boasts of an interesting of tracks in its album with lyrics penned by the renowned lyricist Shellee of Udta Punjab and Manmarziyan fame, Rapper MC Couper, and State Award winning lyricist Hari Narayanan, with the soul-stirring music composed by Bijibal, known for his exceptional contributions to the Malayalam film industry.

 

Directed by Sajeed A, the film features an ensemble cast with Kishore and Shruthy Menon as leads. Produced by Jaideep Singh and Bhavya Nidhi Sharma, the crew of Vadakkan also includes Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty. Vadakkan promises to be a pulsating supernatural experience which audiences can experience in theatres.
