Kamal Haasan visits SP Balasubrahmanyam in the hospital; actor says ‘life-saving machines are functioning’
Tamil film superstar Kamal Haasan shares a special bond with singer SP Balasubrahmanyam. Haasan went to MGM Healthcare Hospital in Chennai to visit the singer after his health deteriorated on Thursday.
On his way back from the hospital, Kamal Haasan spoke to the media and shared an update regarding SP Balasubrahmanyam's health condition. “Life-saving machines are functioning. His family members are praying for him. I cannot say that he is doing well. He is critical,” the actor said.
On Thursday, the hospital released a statement which read, "Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare on August 5th, remains on ECMO and other life support measures. His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition."
SPB tested positive for COVID-19 on August 5 with mild symptoms, However, his condition worsened on August 13 and he was put on ECMO and ventilator support.
