Dulquer Salmaan unveils new poster of Kurup; says film would have released today in an ideal world

Dulquer Salmaan had a sweet surprise for all his fans on the occasion of Eid. The actor took to his social media handle to share a new poster of his upcoming film Kurup. The film produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s production house WayFarer Films was initially supposed to release today. However, owing to the pandemic, the film industry and theatre business has come to a halt.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, Salmaan wrote, “Here’s a little surprise for Eid ! Another poster from our most ambitious “Kurup” ! In an ideal world today the film would have released in theatres all over. But guess we will have to make do with a poster release!”

Kurup, which is based on a real-life incident is one of the most anticipated films of 2020. Dulquer Salmaan plays the protagonist Sukumara Kurup, a most wanted criminal in the history of India. he is accused of murdering a film representative named Chacko and faking his own death. Kurup's plan was to murder Chacko and pass it off as his own death to claim a large amount of insurance.

It is one of the longest unsolved cases in Kerala till date. Indrajith plays the investigating officer in the film. Sobhita Dhulipala plays the role of a nurse in the film.
