Actor Rakul Preet Singh recently opened up about her first-ever star-struck moment in the film industry, and it involved none other than Ranveer Singh. In a recent interview, the actress recalled meeting Ranveer for the first time at an award function, long before her own Bollywood debut, and revealed how the interaction left her overwhelmed with excitement.
The actress, who is currently receiving appreciation for her performance as Nilofar in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, shared that she had been a fan of Ranveer Singh ever since watching Band Baaja Baaraat. According to Rakul, she was determined to meet the actor during an award event where she and her film’s cast were scheduled to perform.
Speaking about the memorable encounter, Rakul said, “I am a huge Ranveer Singh fan. So I had watched Band Baaja Baarat and Band Baaja had come a little before Yaariyan. Toh hamlog kisi award function me the and hamlog perform kar rahe the (So we were in an award function and we were all performing) - the entire cast - and backstage was Ranveer. I had never met Ranveer. And of course, jabtak apka debut nahi hota film abhi release hone wali hai (I mean till your debut film doesn’t release and mine was just about to), so I’ve never got starstruck. I got to know Ranveer is hosting and Ranveer is there and everyone knew he is my favourite, I have told everyone that I have to meet Ranveer today I have to get a picture with him.
“And we were standing backstage and suddenly there is a hand that comes from behind and he is like “Rakul?” and I was like ya ya ya.. and then I went to the vanity van and jumped and I was like omg I met Ranveer. And of course, later I have told him about this and we have joked about it but that was my first and I think that my only star-stuck moment,” she added.
Her candid revelation has definitely left Ranveer fans thrilled as yet another name gets added to the Dhurandhar star’s admirers’ list. Apart from the commercial success of his recent projects, Ranveer Singh also reportedly achieved a major milestone as his film-series crossed the Rs. 1000 crore Hindi net club, reinforcing his position as one of the leading stars of contemporary Indian cinema.
