Complaint filed against Allu Arjun for calling his fans 'Army' during Pushpa 2 promotions

Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 5, 2024, Allu Arjun has landed in a controversy. The superstar, who recently attended a promotional event in Kochi, referred to his fanbase as his 'army,' a term that has now drawn criticism. A complaint was filed against him in Hyderabad for using the word 'army' to describe his fans.

Complaint Filed in Hyderabad

 

Srinivas, president of the Green Peace Environment and Water Harvesting Foundation, complained to the Jawahar Nagar Police Station in Hyderabad. Explaining his stance, Srinivas said in a video, "We have filed a complaint against Tollywood star Allu Arjun requesting him not to use the word 'army' for his fan base. Army is an honourable post; they’re the ones who protect our country, so you can’t call your fans that. There are many other terms he could use instead."

 

The complaint further stated, "It is highly objectionable that the actor has named his fan club after the honourable army that lays down its lives in the service of the nation."

 

 

Allu Arjun Defends His Statement

 

The actor, who is fondly referred to as "Mallu Arjun" in Kerala, addressed the origins of the term during the Kochi event. He explained, "You know, why do I call my fans an army? It is because of the Kerala fans. You started this trend, and I got inspired by you. It has become such a phenomenon today. So, thank you for giving me that."

 

Pushpa 2: The Rule Gearing Up for Release

 

Amid the controversy, the excitement for Pushpa 2: The Rule remains undiminished. Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Sukumar Writings, the film will feature Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj, Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The cast also includes Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj.

 

This sequel to the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise promises to deliver more action and drama, as Allu Arjun leads the charge once again.
