After Atrangi Re, Dhanush’s upcoming film Maaran to also release on Disney+Hotstar

Actor Dhanush who was last seen in the film Atrangi Re which was released on Disney+Hotstar will have his next film released on the same platform. The superstar’s upcoming film Maaran directed by Karthick Naren will be released directly on Disney+Hotstar. On the occasion of Pongal on Friday, the makers announced that the film will skip its theatrical release and will opt for direct to digital release.

Director Karthick Naren took to Twitter to share the motion poster and wrote, "The pen is mightier than the sword” Presenting #MaaranMotionPoster. #Maaran coming soon on @DisneyPlusHS (sic)."

 

 

Maaran will be Dhanush's third direct to OTT release. His film Jagame Thandhiram was released directly on Netflix last year. The actor who was disappointed with the makers for opting to release the film on an OTT platform expressed the same on social media.

 

Maaran marks Dhanush's first collaboration with Karthick Naren. The film is an investigative thriller with ample action and emotion. The film is currently in the post-production stage.
