Ahead of SSMB29, S S Rajamouli takes on a road trip to visit temples in Tamil Nadu

S.S. Rajamouli, who got Oscars to our turf, has been eagerly awaiting to kick start his next project. While fans of the iconic filmmaker are excited to see him collaborate with the Telugu Prince Mahesh Babu, ahead of the same, the filmmaker decided to take off on a road trip to explore the temples of Tamil Nadu. In fact, in a note penned by the director-producer, he confessed that this has always been a dream of his which he was able to fulfill recently.

S S Rajamouli took to his social media platform to share a video of all the temples he explored recently in central Tamil Nadu. Along with sharing a sneak peek into his fun road trip, which can be referred to as a sort of pilgrimage, the filmmaker also penned a heartfelt note wherein he shared his experience of his latest journey and also opened up about the places he visited. “Wanted to do a road trip in central tamilnadu for a long time. Thanks to my daughter who wanted to visit temples, we embarked upon it. Had been to Srirangam, Darasuram, Brihadeeswarar koil, Rameshwaram, Kanadukathan, Thoothukudi and Madurai in the last week of June . Could only touch the tip of the iceberg in the given few days. Exquisite architecture, amazing engineering and deep spiritual thought of pandyas, chozhas Nayakkars and many other rulers was truly mesmerizing,” he said.

 

Rajamouli continued to add, “Whether the fine dining in Mantrakoodam, Kumbakonam or a kaka hotel murugan mess in Rameshwaram the food has been marvelous everywhere… I must have put on 2-3 kilos in a week. After 3 months of foreign travel and food, this home land tour has been refreshing and uplifting.”

Talking about SSMB29, S S Rajamouli is expected to leave no stone unturned for this film which is expected to be mounted on a larger scale than RRR. A couple of days ago, K V Vijayendra Prasad, father of Rajamouli as well as the writer of his next, had asserted that this will be a film on a much grander scale. It is expected to be a globe-trotting adventure with the role of Mahesh Babu being inspired by Lord Hanuman.
