Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi likely to return as Bloodhounds gets renewed for season 2 on Netflix

The popular Netflix series Bloodhounds is officially getting a second season, with reports suggesting the return of its leading stars Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi. The news broke on April 29, with Sports Seoul reporting that production for Season 2 has been confirmed. While Netflix has yet to officially confirm the details, a representative did state they are ‘discussing it positively.’ Filming is reportedly expected to begin sometime in the latter half of 2024.

For those unfamiliar with the first season, Bloodhounds is a gripping action noir that takes viewers into the dark and dangerous world of loan sharks. Based on a webtoon, the story follows two down-on-their-luck young men, Gun Woo (played by Woo Do Hwan) and Woo Jin (played by Lee Sang Yi). Driven by financial struggles, they enter the world of loan sharks hoping for a quick solution. However, their pursuit of money quickly lands them in a tangled web of far more sinister forces.

 

The series captivated audiences with its heart-pounding action sequences, suspenseful plot, and the undeniable chemistry between the two leads.  Woo Do Hwan, known for his roles in The King: Eternal Monarch and Tempted, brings his signature intensity to the role of Gun Woo, a determined boxer burdened by debt. Lee Sang Yi, who has impressed viewers in dramas like Hometown Cha Cha Cha and My Demon, portrays Woo Jin, Gun Woo's loyal friend who gets swept up in the chaos alongside him.

 

While details about the second season are under wraps, fans can likely expect more of the same high-octane action and thrilling plot twists that made the first season a success. Will Gun Woo and Woo Jin manage to escape the clutches of the loan sharks? What new dangers will they encounter in Season 2?
