Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool 3 to begin filming in London this May; Jackman to play double role

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s hotly-anticipated threequel, Deadpool 3, will reportedly begin filming in London this May. The film will officially mark the entry of fan-favorite characters Deadpool and Wolverine into the MCU.

As reported by Collider, production was previously slated to begin later this year and now the cameras are set to begin rolling in London this Spring. Majority of filming will take place across the pond, unlike the first two movies, which were filmed in Vancouver. Previously director Shawn Levy shared that filming would begin around May 1, however, nothing is confirmed.

 

Meanwhile, in an interview with a French newspaper, Jackman revealed that he will be seen in a double role. "Yes, it will even be a double role. Ryan and I have been friends for twenty years, we have a lot of fun together. We're shooting this summer. That's why I'm so happy to be in Paris right now and to be able to enjoy French gastronomy.”

 

He added, “Because very soon, I will have to go on a strict diet to remake Wolverine's body: steamed chicken and broccoli!" Deadpool 3 will see the return of Reynolds’ Merc-with-a-mouth along with Jackman's Wolverine. As per reports, the two characters will possibly have a face-off in the sequel to Deadpool 2. Deadpool 3 will be the first R-rated film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

 

Along with Jackman and Reynolds, the film will also star Emma Corrin as villain. Franchise writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have penned the script for the third film along with Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin. Levy is set to direct the threequel, making it the third collaboration with Reynolds after Netflix’s The Adam Project and Disney's Free Guy.

 

Deadpool 3 is currently slated for November 8, 2024.
